Advanced Open Water
Congratulations on taking this important step towards greater enjoyment in the water, and improving your skills as a diver. By increasing your knowledge, Scuba Diving will become more natural. In the Advanced course you will make two "core" or required dives: navigation and deep. On all of the dives you will continue to work on improving your buoyancy. You will also make three "elective" dives that you choose with the guidance of your PADI Instructor. Not all elective dives can be done in a particular location. On all of the dives you will continue to work on improving your buoyancy.

You can completing your 5 open water advanced dives during a weekend with us at Homestead Crater, with us on a Flatirons Scuba escorted trip, or we can provide referral paperwork for your next trip.
At Homestead Crater you will learn:
- Estimate distance and navigate underwater using natural navigation and compass navigation
- Gain peak performance with your buoyancy
- Be able to perform deep dives with a greater degree of safety
- "Search and Recovery" to find lost objects, or sunken treasure
- "Altitude Dive" understand the differences related to pressure at altitude
On an escorted trip or with a referral based on the location you may be able to select the following electives:
- Dive at night with increased awareness and comfort.
- Wreck dive, learning safety and fun.
- Fish Identification, Photography, and more.
- Underwater slate & pencil
- Underwater light (necessary for night and deeper dives)
- Compass
- Underwater Timing Device
- Whistle or other signaling device
- Knife or divers tool
