GUE Peak Performance Diver

The objective of the GUE Performance Diver class is to enhance the skills that we consider essential to safety enjoy the underwater world. This course provides all divers with an opportunity to advance basic diving skills.
The course will focus on:
1. Precise buoyancy, trim and propulsion are a central topics of the class.
2. GUE equipment configuration , back-plate and wing, is explained and used during the class.
3. A strong team component is emphasize during all phases of training
4. Emergency skills to assist your team underwater
5. Use and handling of Nitrox mixes.
Taking this class before you next diving vacation will ensure that you’re ready to get the most out
of your warm water adventure.
Equipment Requirements:
In order to take GUE Performance Dive a specific equipment is needed:
1. Buoyancy Compensation Device: A diver’s buoyancy compensation device should be
back- mounted and minimalist in nature
2. Backplate System: A rigid and flat platform of metal construction with minimal padding,
held to a diver by one continuous piece of nylon webbing
3. Regulators: One of the second-stages must be on a 5 to 7 foot/1.5 to 2 meter hose
4. At least one time-/depth-measuring device wear on your wrist
A limited set of these are available for rental.
Swimming Test:
The Performance Diver class required minimum level of water stamina to enter the course. The
stamina test consists of:
1. 300 yards swimming test. This exercise should be completed in 14 minutes, and students
should not stop during the test.
2. A 50 foot underwater swim.
In order to register for the class you need to register and pay with Flatirons Scuba AND register and pay at www.gue.com. ($700 to Flatirons and $75 to GUE.)

To apply for a GUE class all applicants must have a completed GUE Student Profile. If you have not already completed the Student Profile you will be prompted to complete the form before applying for a GUE course. Your completed Student Profile must also be less than one year old.
This class will be run quarterly.
